The following instructions will guide you through setting up a new account in Windows Mail.
Open Microsoft Windows Mail 6.0.
At the top of the page click on the 'Tools' menu and then select 'Accounts...'
Click on the 'Add' button.
Select the account type 'e-mail Account' and click 'Next'.
Your Name
This is what will appear in the FROM field when you send an e-mail.
Click 'Next'
Internet e-mail address
Enter your full e-mail address.
Click 'Next'
e-mail Server +Names
Select 'POP3' for the incoming mail server type.
Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server:
pop.can.rogers.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
pop.can.rogers.com
Check the box beside 'My outgoing server requires authentication'
Click 'Next'
Internet Mail Logon
'Account Name': Enter your full e-mail address
'Password': Enter your e-mail password
Click 'Next.'
Congratulations
Click 'Finish.'
Can't Send Email?
If you can receive email but you can't send email after following the instructions above, you will need to change your
outgoing mail (SMTP) port from the default of 25 to 1025.
To do this:
From the 'Edit' menu click 'Preferences...' From the window on the left, select 'Mail Servers'
Now change the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server' from 'mail.can.rogers.com' to 'mail.can.rogers.com:1025'.
